SCENIC WALKS

Step out of your terrace unit and you are able to embark on some of the most scenic walks in the area. For those in search of a flat leisurely walk commence at Town Beach and walk along the Hastings River breakwall to the lovely Town Green, all the while taking in the sights of dolphins frolicking in the river, the coming and going of various watercraft, the happy angler with the freshest of catches or stop for a chat with a local. From the Town Green you can explore the Town Centre or continue along the foreshore to the marina where you will see many and varied craft. If you are looking for something a little more adventurous, commence at Town Beach and make your way past Flagstaff Hill, along Oxley Beach and climb the very popular and pretty "Doctors Walk". From here you can continue your walk south,detouring to take in the various parks and formed cliff walks all the way to the lighthouse at Lighthouse Beach and for the very enthusiastic walk your way to Lake Cathie. Perhaps you would prefer to meander along the boardwalk at Kooloonbung Creek Nature Park. The Park abounds with birdlife, blue tongue lizards, water dragons and Koalas among the eucalypts. And being just a few minutes walk from the Town Centre, this makes a wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy holiday itinerary.

WILDLIFE

Visit our famous Koala Hospital at Roto House and realize what a wonderful job our volunteers do looking after sick and injured Koalas. Or walk the boardwalk at our famous Sea Acres, a tropical rainforest along the beach side which abounds with wildlife.

SEA ACRES RAIN FOREST CENTRE

Surround yourself in the tranquil beauty that is Sea Acres. It is a place of natural coastal rainforest at Shelly Beach, 5km south of Town Beach. Take a walk on the elevated boardwalk and see if you can spot the wildlife, or just be amazed by being surrounded by such majestic trees. Volunteer Guides are available. You can also enjoy the information centre, gift shop and café. Open daily from 6am to 4.30pm. Ph 6582 3355

BILLABONG

The well renowned Billabong nature park is outstanding for getting up close and cuddly with all sorts of native fauna. Koala patting at 10.30,1.30 and 3.30. Light lunches and coffee available. Ph 6585 1060
